Artery pressure

The increased artery pressure represents a risk for development of ischaemic disease. The risk increases even with a normal tension in the situation of a smoker or if he has a high level of cholesterol.

Normally this is what happens: the blood vessels loose their capability of expansion - the circulation is getting worse. In order to maintain the circulation in a normal way, the heart has to contract more strongly. As a result the arteries become old, and they tear, and the heart is over loading.

There are a lot of people that have increased artery pressure and don’t even know about it, because there are no signs that could prevent them about it.

How the artery pressure changes

The doctor determines the pressure by two points. The highest sign of pressure, and the lowest pressure. You should try to have 120 to 80, not more and not less. This is a normal state.

What should you do

If you don’t even feel this pressure, or there are no signs of it, anyway in order of keeping the artery pressure in a normal state we can advice you the following:

- check the artery pressure at least once in two years.

- know and write down your data.

- if the doctor prescribes you medicines, try to take them regularly because sometimes they can even save your life.

- if you have a higher pressure than 120 to 80, you should try to low it.

- take care of your body weight.

- regularly do physical exercises.

- reduce the stresses.

- reduce the consumption of salt and sugar.
